Introducing Super Dimension Comics

Hi, I'm Chris, an artist and writer from Oakland, CA.

I decided to start Super Dimension Comics a few years ago as a vehicle to produce all of the crazy, random stories that have been bouncing around in my head or in various stages of incomplete across notebooks, sketchbooks and hard drives.

It took a long, roundabout road for me to realize that comics was the right medium for what I was trying to do and for awhile I fought it. Writing, drawing and coloring an original comic is a substantial undertaking that should never be underestimated. Doing it in your spare time is even more daunting. But it became clear that it was the medium that would allow me to tell stories in a way that felt natural to me - an equal blend of concept, story and visuals. So I jumped in with both feet and undertook the task of adapting a bunch of my old short stories and half finished sci-fi novels into comics (or graphic novels, if you're fancy).

It's taken a few years to develop these stories, with their unique characters, settings and styles, but it's been an amazing journey along the way. I hope to share some of that journey here with you on this blog. Everything from how-to's and tutorials on making comics, to drawing tips, storytelling techniques and more.
